South Pearl and South Gaylord Close Out the Outdoor Season in the Same Ten Days

October 29, 2026

The outdoor season on Old South Pearl Street and Historic South Gaylord Street ends between October 30 and November 8. The last Final Friday art walk is on October 30. Trick or Treat Street takes over the 1000 block of South Gaylord the next afternoon. The South Pearl Street Farmers Market packs up for the year on November 8. After that, both strips depend on their storefronts until the holiday markets start. This year, that storefront mix includes two businesses that opened in 2026.

If you live between Platt Park and Bonnie Brae, the ten days starting October 30 hold the last sidewalk events of the year.

The ten days, in order

All the dates come from the street associations' own 2026 calendars. They line up neatly across one weekend and the two Sundays around it.

Date Event Where Hours
Fri., Oct. 30 Final Friday art walk, last of 2026 1400–1600 blocks of S. Pearl St. 5 p.m. to dark
Sat., Oct. 31 Trick or Treat Street 1000 block of S. Gaylord St. 3–6 p.m.
Sun., Nov. 1 South Pearl Street Farmers Market 1500 S. Pearl St. 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Sun., Nov. 8 Farmers market closing day 1500 S. Pearl St. 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Final Friday has run on the last Friday of each month since June. The South Pearl Street association bills it as a smaller, family-friendly alternative to First Friday. Artists give live demonstrations on the sidewalks, vintage vendors set up alongside them, and there's music and food along the 1400 to 1600 blocks. October 30 is the last one until next summer. With darkness coming early by then, plan on getting there close to 5.

The next afternoon, the action moves to South Gaylord. Trick or Treat Street runs from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. Businesses along the block hand out treats to trick-or-treaters of every age. The association says it's adding a red carpet and a photographer this year, along with a costume contest. Lights will be strung over the street and jack-o'-lanterns will line the sidewalks. With a 3 p.m. start, a family can do the whole block and still be home before trick-or-treating on their own street gets going.

Why the farmers market's last two Sundays matter most

Of the three events, the market is the one whose closing changes the most. Final Friday is once a month and Trick or Treat Street is once a year. The South Pearl Street Farmers Market has run every Sunday since May 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1500 S. Pearl St. That makes 28 Sundays in 2026. After October 25, two are left.

The market's live music lineup runs right to the end. Decaf Muchachos play on November 1, and Alex Thoele plays the closing day on November 8. One rule catches people every season: no pets are allowed at the market.

The 2026 vendor roster is long, and many names on it are new this year. The association marks Soup Witch, Legacy Pie, Dragon Meadery, Panda Bao, Rang Tang Craft BBQ, Muff Handmade English Muffins, Buck and Bloom Cheese Co, Foliata Cheese and Park Pass Coffee as new. They join longtime regulars like Ela Family Farm, Miller Farms, Pappardelles Pasta, Porcellino Artisanal Meats, Rebel Bread and Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs. The roster covers the full season. It doesn't promise who will be at any particular Sunday, so if a favorite vendor matters to you, check with them before November 8.

After that Sunday, the stalls at 1500 S. Pearl are gone for the year. One market vendor now has its own storefront a few blocks up the street.

The bakery that moves your Sunday routine indoors

Reunion Bakery used to be inside The Source market hall. In early May, it opened its new home at 1240 S. Pearl St. Axios Denver reported in July that James Beard-nominated baker Ismael de Sousa built the café around an open kitchen, so customers can watch everything being made from scratch during the day. The bigger space added an all-day menu with dishes like the "Eggsession," an open-faced sourdough sandwich with soft-scrambled eggs. The pastry case rotates cream puffs and tarts, and the signature pastel de nata is still the item to order.

Two details from the Axios report matter now that the market is closing. Fresh bread service runs Wednesday through Sunday. Reunion has also been a regular vendor at the South Pearl Street Farmers Market on Sundays. So if you've been picking up a loaf at the market stall, the same bakery runs a storefront with weekly bread service that doesn't depend on the market calendar. Reunion also appears on the market page's list of 2026 merchants. Other names there include Pearl Wine & Market, Sexy Pizza, Stir Pan Creamery, Gallery 1505 and Silver Cloud Studio.

The 1240 address is a few blocks north of the Final Friday blocks, so you can stop there on the way to the art walk on October 30.

South Gaylord's new dining room

On South Gaylord, the 2026 change is at the north end of the street's numbering. Wash Park Social took over 1096 S. Gaylord St., the former home of Wash Park Grille. Writing for BusinessDen, the Denver Post reported in March that owner Bart Hickey and his partners planned to open at the end of April. Hickey told the paper the new concept would be "dramatically different." The restaurant's own site now says it's open.

That gives the 1000 block one more dining room that doesn't depend on a street event. Wash Park Social is listed in the South Gaylord association directory alongside neighbors including Devil's Food Bakery at 1004, Homegrown Tap & Dough at 1001, Hawthorne at 1000, Sweet Action Ice Cream at 1061, Reiver's Restaurant at 1085, The Paper Lady at 1018 and Trunk Show at 1002.

The gap between the last event and the first holiday market

Once the market closes on November 8, neither street has a scheduled outdoor event for almost two weeks. The holiday season on these blocks starts on South Gaylord.

The Firefly Handmade Holiday Market is set for Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1004 S. Gaylord St. Admission is free, and the Visit Denver listing describes more than 80 artisans plus live music. It falls on the weekend before Thanksgiving, so it's the first chance on either street this year to shop from local makers in one place.

South Pearl's holiday plans haven't been announced yet. The Winterfest page still shows last year's event, which ran December 5 and 6, 2025, and no 2026 dates have been posted. Last year's early-December timing is useful for rough planning, but don't book around it until the association posts this year's dates.

There's also one longer-term item on South Pearl. In July, BusinessDen reported a proposal for 1550 S. Pearl St. that includes a future restaurant. No tenant was named in the report. It's a plan on paper for now. It's notable because it sits right in the Final Friday blocks.

A short plan for the next three weekends

The calendar fits into three weekends:

  1. Friday, October 30: Stop at Reunion at 1240 S. Pearl, then walk south to the 1400–1600 blocks for the last Final Friday. It starts at 5 p.m. and runs until dark.
  2. Saturday, October 31: Trick or Treat Street on the 1000 block of South Gaylord, 3–6 p.m., with the costume contest and red carpet photos.
  3. Sunday, November 1: The market at 1500 S. Pearl, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Decaf Muchachos on the music schedule.
  4. Sunday, November 8: Closing day at the market, with Alex Thoele playing. Leave the dog at home.
  5. November 21–22: Firefly Handmade Holiday Market at 1004 S. Gaylord, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Between those dates, the storefronts carry both streets. That includes the regulars on the 1000 block of South Gaylord, the merchants along South Pearl, and the two 2026 additions at 1240 S. Pearl and 1096 S. Gaylord.
